Post Processing

Along with learning my camera, composition (that darn Rule of Thirds!!), and lighting, I'm learning all I can about post processing (pp) pictures using Adobe Photoshop CS3. I've got Scott Kelby's book, which is very helpful, and have been perusing online tutorials, preferably video tutorials. So over time hopefully you'll see improvements in post processing.

Ugh. So much to learn... and being the perfectionist that I am I want to know it all RIGHT NOW.

This is my absolutely stunning niece Sara (taken this month at my dad's acreage). She's been so gracious to allow me to take pictures of her twice over the last few months. She stands patiently and waits while I try to figure out camera settings, exposure, white balance, etc. One of the amazing things about taking pictures of her is that not only is she a natural beauty, her natural poses and expressions are breathtaking. She has been soooo much fun to shoot and I look forward to more sessions with her, assuming she's willing. Thank you Sara!

Photo updates

Here are some more recent pictures of Claire (above) and Rachel (below), both taken this month. These are two of my favorites from all the shots I've taken over the last few months. I think I love them because they show the girls in quiet innocent states, like I don't see so much any more. Their beauty overwhelms me every day. Ya know, you can process an image to make someone have smoother skin, but I just can't do that to these two; baby skin is beautiful the way it is!

My Girls!

It's only fitting that my first post should be my two sweet angels, Claire who will be 3 years old in April and Rachel who will be 7 years old in May. It's also fitting to post this picture as it was taken Jume 2007, before my photography studies.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the girls for a few reasons: #1 The Pink. The girls are crazy about Pink, so much so it deserves to be capitalized. And mentioned again. Pink. This Valentine's Day I bought Rachel the book titled "Pinkalicious" and it's perfect for both of them. Makes me want to make pink cupcakes (hint - read the book). The # 2 reason I love this picture is it exemplifies their relationship. Rachel the ever loving ever caring big sister really truley always looking out for her little sis. Claire in awe of her big sister always under Rachel's protective arms. It's a beautiful thing to behold and I'm so lucky to be a part of it.
